Your hump day, my Sunday.

Hello friends! Happy hump day to most of the world, happy Sunday to me :( womp womp. At least I don't have to work in the morning tomorrow. Just night time. Anyhoo, today was probably one of the most productive days I've had in a lonnnnng time. It started with a healthy greek yogurt parfait made by yours truly (like it's hard. all ya do is take greek yogurt, then slap in a scoop of your favorite sugar-free jam or preserves, and mix it all up. If I'm feelin' frisky I'll mix in some granola too), then a meeting with a friend at a coffee shop that will *soon be* next door to her house. I couldn't resist taking a picture of this sign....

Charming, isn't it? Hahaha. I laughed, just like that. Out loud.

So my mom's been bugging me to check out this pet store in the Hillcrest neighborhood for FOREVER. And since I was in the neighborhood anyway, I went looking for it. Funny side note: Mom couldn't remember the name of it, only where it was, so I followed her directions to find it's called, lo and behold, "PET STORE." Creative...

But they had adorable clothes, so of course I bought Winnie the Cockapoo a new spring dress.

Yes I know, she's adorable. And she LOVES her clothes.

I also bought her and my mom's dog little doggie whoopie pies. So precious.

My gym sesh had to be pretty snappy so I could make my nail appointment on time, so I ran a mile then did a few resistance exercises, and felt pretty accomplished considering it was a short workout.

Then I went to the 2nd or 3rd happiest place on earth, Sugar and Spice Studio, to see my amazing Olga. I got a pedicure (during which Olga discovered the small start of a fungus in one of my toenails. Disgusting. Guess I should throw away Grandma's foot soaking tub), and a shellac manicure. CND just released new colors for spring, and I decided to layer cake pop and grapefruit smoothie. I'm in love.

I love looking like an alien while my nails soak in acetone
to remove the previous shellac. And on my toes is OPI
"If You Moust You Moust"
I guess I was feeling a little pink today? Sue me.

To finish the night, I cooked dinner for me and the friend-boy. I made skinny chicken nuggets thanks to Skinnytaste, and also thanks to Skinnytaste, I made some twice-baked potatoes. I used this recipe to get a handle on how to attempt to make twice-baked potatoes not-terrible-for-you, but I hate broccoli. So I kinda did my own thing in terms of what I put in it. Instead of buttermilk, I used greek yogurt, a little bit of butter and a little bit of sour cream, and I also chopped up some chives and mixed those in too. They were amaaaaaaazing.

Yeah, yeah, I'm a wino. I also made skinny greek
yogurt ranch. I'll do a post on that soon. I haven't
met someone who hasn't loved it.

I also got a wild hare up my ass and decided to take some before pics, maybe to serve as extra motivation to actually have some after pictures at some point in the near future--or, hell, progress pictures at least. So here goes nothin...

Currently weighing in at 191, size 14 (but I can sqqueeeeeze into 12s) and L/XL. Love me some Pink yoga pants to hide my love handles.

Alright that's it for me fools. Night night!

Makeoverrrrrrrrrr.

If you've ever read my blog (probably not), you don't need to be told I just gave this place a big ole' facelift! Totally changed the color scheme, and I hope it's livened it up a bit. Let me know what you think....

Also, my schedule has changed. AGAIN. And thanks to work, my cankle came back (aka my swollen ankle). My new schedule pretty much blows, since Tuesdays and Wednesdays are my news weekends and Thursday-Sunday I work Noon to 11:30PM, and Mondays 9AM-8PM. But there's a silver lining......

I can go to work in the morning and not have to wake up at an ungodly hour!!!!

Which also means I won't have to deal with *thinking* about going to the gym after a lonnnnnnng day of work on my achy legs. Instead, I'll get to go straight home to bed, wake up around 9, get a workout in, have breakfast, and go to work. Of course it's not ideal, but maybe it'll be good for me. I do, after all, need to lose more than just 10 pounds.

Anyhoo, this post will be short, as I am very tired and don't have a whole hell of a lot else to say. I will tomorrow though. Be ready.

Also, I've found a new blog I enjoy reading, Matters of Merrymaking. Bekah is a Memphis girl and her posts aren't filled with talk of her babies (you know I love me some Mama, but it's nice to relate on a different level too.

Oh, I'm also still contemplating switching gyms. I'm pretty sure tomorrow I'm going to mozy on over to this place:

Chuze might be the gym for me...wish me luck! Btw, does anyone go to the gym and shower/get ready there after? I've heard of people doing this, like Skinny Meg, but I'm just not sure I'm comfortable with that, and definitely don't want people looking at me like a weirdo.

Decisions decisions.

If you're on there, follow me!

OK peace out. I gotta get my boots ready for line dancing at INCAHOOTS tonight! Also known as my-favorite-place-in-the-world.

Love y'all.

My weekend in pictures

This is going to be a very picture-heavy post. Because I've had a great two days off. Enjoy.

OK, yesterday I was lazy. I went out on Tuesday night (my FRIDAY people helloooooo) to Incahoots, my fav. place in San Diego. With the friend boy and a girlfriend, and I had a good time. It felt like the first time in forever I actually went out, even though it's only been a couple of weeks. Judge me.

But I did go to an amazing lunch with one of my newest friends who I like a lottttttt. She's pretty awesome. And we might have had a glass of wine....

Cafe Chloe is an adorable sidewalk cafe/wine bar in Downtown San Diego. They have delicious food that's a biiiit pricy, but you can get 1/2 glasses of wine (great for a lunch break!) and natural food. What I had was a BLT on a croissant with garlic aioli. You tell me there's garlic aioli on anything and I'm ordering it. Anyhoo, enough about what I stuffed my pie-hole with.

TODAY on the other hand was suuuper productive. I got up early and went to the gym before noon (shocker). I did 10 miles on the spinning-style bike--which I have justified because it's not like the one that looks like you're chilling in a comfy chair just peddling your legs back and forth while you casually read a book or something and don't break a sweat)--then some arm weight-machines, then I got on this contraption:

I'm sure the girl in the background thought I was a looney-toon. I did 30 reps straight up and down, then 30 on each side. I love these because it works not only your ab muscles but also your side and back muscles. Toned backs are sexy. And my hair was being held in place by my newest BIC BAND!!!!!

Yes, any chance I get to wear camo, I take. BTW, get a BIC Band. Nothing says motivation like spending $12.00 on a headband. Gotta get your money's worth!

Then it got in the 80s and I HAD to get out and enjoy it, so I went to sushi with a best friend and wore SHORTS for the first time in months. San Diego has been strangely cold this winter. Anyway, this was the highlight of February for me.

Ignore the fat bruise on my leg. I wasn't paying
attention, talking and walking at work, and ran into
a railing. Oops. I can't multi-task.
After lunch, we went to DSW to spend the $50.00 gift card my work gave me when I got to the airport. I guess they feel bad for how ruined your shoes get when you start working there so they give you some money to go replace them. But did I buy work shoes? No. I already did that last week before they gave me the gift card. Instead I found these beauties:

Then I saw this...

My thrifty (read: cheap) ass couldn't say no to THAT deal, so I bought them, even though they had this minor and fixable issue:

The girl at the register knocked off an extra five dollars, making these ONE-HUNDRED AND FIFTY DOLLAR SHOES and whopping TEN BUCKS IN THE END. Holllllllllllaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!! I came home, got out some gorilla glue, and fixed that issue in about one minute.

I also ordered these flats (well they're as similar as I can find online). I'm not a flats kind of girl. I much prefer wedges and sometimes heels. But I decided I'm going to try to incorporate some neutral flats into my wardrobe so I don't spend my entire summer in sandals like I usually do, which results in extremely dry heels. Yucky. Fingers crossed they work out!

Anyway, hope you enjoyed my weekend in pictures, my non-existent readers :) I've decided my next 10-pound weight loss reward will be getting my hair done. So hopefully I hit 180 in the next three or four weeks so I don't have half-blondeish half-brown hair :) I guess I could just tell people it's ombre...

Till next time, fools!

8 PM Bedtime

Yes, that's what my life has come to. Especially on these nights before I have to wake up at 315AM. Confession: I have NOT been good this week like I said I would. I HURT. STILL. Everyone says the first two weeks at the airport take some getting used to, and the pain will go away after that. So hopefully these achy joints and swollen feet (see below) go away fast. NOT CUTE.

Today I got off at 3:30, excited to have the day to get some shit done. And what did I do? I went home, sat on the couch, watched the Amazing Race I missed last night, and then found this little treasure in my grandma's closet. Actually, my mom did. I said to my mom, "Momma, I'm gonna buy myself one of those vibrating tubs to soak your feet in because my feet hurt!" And she said, "I think Grammy had one in the closet in your room, dummy." Well she didn't call me dummy, but she implied it. I went and looked, and lo and behold, it basically has been staring me in the face above my clothes every time I sort through the closet to get dressed, for God knows how long. Oops.

So, I used it.

See what I mean about my feet being swollen? At least I'll know what to expect when I get preggers. Side note: follow me on Instagram @coleewolee

Anyhoo, I decided I need to set a workout schedule, that includes some low-intensity workout--mainly on the days I work. Which means the majority of my workouts. But that's OK because it will only be temporary until either A) I really DO get used to being on my feet, walking back and forth on a blacktop, nonstop, for 11 hours a day 5 days a week or B) I leave the airport in a few months and go back to a regular branch, where sitting and resting happens frequently.

So, here's what I've come up with:

Saturdays and Mondays will consist of 45 minutes on a stationary bike followed by ab and arm workouts (btw I've become slightly obsessed with the ab bench that allows you to move back and forth in the forward and side-facing positions (I'll take pictures to explain haha)

Sundays and Tuesdays will consist of 30 minutes on an elliptical machine followed by leg and arm workouts

Wednesdays and Thursdays will consist of at least 30 minutes/2.5 miles of jogging/walking followed by ab workouts

Fridays will be an off day

And this is all going to change next week when my schedule changes AGAIN at work. Luckily the airport changes monthly and that's it. No curveballs like at my old, understaffed branch.

But it'll do for the rest of this week :)

I know, I know, I'm talking a lot of talk and not really walking the walk lately, but I wish I could put into words on a blog the amount of pain and exhaustion I feel when I get off work every day.

On a higher note, the date I went on last week went well, and I think I might like this boy...we'll see if he ever gets written about on here!

That's all for now. Peace out girl scouts.

My new reality.

Holy guacamole it's been a week since I've posted! It's also been a week since I've really done anything healthy, imagine that! Basically, the airport Enterprise has kicked my ass. I want to buy a pedometer to measure how much I walk in one day. Whatever it is, it caused a hole to rub THROUGH MY SHOE. Check it out:

Granted, those shoes have been with me since my very first day at Enterprise, back in June. They've had a LOT of wear and tear put on them, and they've done great up until lately, when they got all stretched out and caused my ankle to get injured. So it was time for them to go anyway. That was just the icing on the cake, so to speak. So, I drove myself down to my favorite mall in the entire world, Las Americas, the outlet mall on the border, and bought some new Aerosoles. My strategy was to find the ugliest pair of flats in the store (kind of difficult because most Aerosoles are ugly to begin with), and it worked. These bad boys are ugly, but feel like slippers. I'm in love.

Anyhoo, I'm on my feet literally all day unless I'm on my lunch break, and it's hard. It's a competitive environment and I don't have a lot of friends there yet, so I'm going through an adjustment phase I think. But one things for sure, and that is that there was not a chance in hell I had the energy--or the strength in my legs and feet--to go to the gym after work this week. But I need to get used to it and get over it. I went today and was more sluggish than the last time I ran (but guess what?! My ankle didn't give me trouble!), so starting Saturday, I'll get back into my routine of going straight from work to the gym. Friday's I work till 8PM and have to be back at 730AM, so that ain't gonna happen. Same with Sundays when I work till 630 and have to be back at 415. But every other day--including my 'weekends'--is going to be a gym day.

In other news, this is how I spent my 'Saturday' morning (aka today):

Oh, and I went on a date last night. :)

Things are lookin' up!

"Happy f*&*@(% Valentine's Day!"

Well said, Samantha from SATC Movie.

Well after my post yesterday, I found out I'm starting at the airport.....TOMORROW. Yep. Tomorrow. So today is my day off, as will be Wednesday. Here's my schedule for the rest of the month of February:

Fridays 9AM-8PM. Shitty.
Saturdays and Sundays 730AM-630PM. No different than my schedule right now except its the weekend. Eh.
Mondays and Tuesdays 430AM-330PM. FOUR. THIRTY. IN. THE. MORNING. But, good news is I'm off by 330 which means I can actually enjoy DAYTIME! Yay!

My weekends will now be Wednesday-Thursday. Not toooooo terrible. But it's still about to get a little crazy. That's the airport though!

So anyhoo, today, my surprise day off, has consisted of sleeping in, watching The Biggest Loser than I missed on Monday, then lounging around with my puppy. She likes it when I'm home and she can sleep on me. Could be worse, right?  Then I drug my ass off the couch and went to the gym. I decided to do the bike out of fear of hurting my ankle more--which is feeling a little better today (proooobably because I'm not wearing my work shoes...)--and I was pleasantly surprised. I got on the bike with a higher seat, that looked more like the bikes used in a spin class, and hiked up the resistance and went as fast as I could for 30 minutes. I broke a sweat and felt like I did something, it just wasn't as high-impact as running. And it was boring as shit. Next time I do that, I'll make sure to download an episode of a TV show on my iPhone.

Anyhoo, tonight my friend Cassandra is coming over to be my Valentine. We will cook a skinny dinner and drink not-skinny wine (she used to work at a winery. I know, I hit the friend-jackpot with that one!), and watch a stupid movie. I won't go into detail about last year's Valentine's Day, but I will assure you that tonight's plans are already infinitely better than last year.

Also, it's Throwback Thursday, so I posted this gem on Instagram:

Feel free to follow me.

And one thing I'm struggling with: Switching gyms. I currently go to a national chain I will leave unnamed, but here's a hint--most locations are open 24 hours a day...Anyhoo, I have grown to hate it. The equipment at my location is old, it's ALWAYS crowded, and the one near my house has a bunch of weirdos. Also, it's like 40 bucks a month. Which isn't terrible but I can get something for cheaper that has tanning beds, which would save me money I spend at a tanning salon. I've narrowed it down to 2, but I really just wish Planet Fitness would hurry up and make it's way to San Diego so I could go there. Ugh. Sooooo hopefully this week I'll make my decision on that.

Ta ta for now fools!
